He was not one to rush into danger, but he had just been trapped in an illusory array. Even knowing it was false, his mind had been clouded, and he had still acted against his own interests without realizing it. The ghostly array here was clearly a cut above.
And now, he knew all the more clearly that he could not simply sit and wait for death.
Fortunately, while other dangers might have been difficult for him to handle, attacks against his Divine Sense were another matter.
"Hmph! You want to devour me? Impossible!"
Su Shi'er plunged his awareness into his Sea of Consciousness and gave a fierce shout. Under his control, the little Divine Sense he had left within it instantly turned razor-sharp.
Before the soul forms could react, his Divine Sense gathered into a long sword and swept through his Sea of Consciousness.
The sword passed!
It struck the weakest soul form squarely.
This was the Spiritual Sense Attack Su Shi'er had learned before: Divine Light Stab!
The dark-green cluster of soul light froze, then burst like a firework. The scattered fragments of Divine Sense immediately drew most of the soul forms into a scramble to devour them.
But at the instant they broke apart, Su Shi'er absorbed even more of those fragments himself.
With a little of his Divine Sense restored, the Sword Light did not fade. Under Su Shi'er's control, it attacked the other soul forms again.
Spiritual Sense Attacks were rare to begin with, and they were fighting on Su Shi'er's home ground, inside his Sea of Consciousness. In the blink of an eye, the tide turned. One cluster of light after another vanished.
In mere moments, Su Shi'er's Divine Sense had not only recovered completely but grown far stronger than before.
