This was the second day after Kaido of the Beasts was defeated. Thanks to Absalom, the hidden "news reporter," the world quickly learned this earth-shattering news.

Of course, as someone loyal to Gecko Moria, Absalom made sure that although Gecko Moria had only acted once in this battle—and had been rather miserably one-shot by Kaido of the Beasts—more than half the report was still about him. Yet the report contained very little about how Gecko Moria had "defeated" Kaido of the Beasts, which left many readers dissatisfied.

"Kaido, that great pirate, was actually defeated? Why doesn't the newspaper give any details?"

"Who exactly is this Gecko Moria? He actually took down that kind of monster? This news is barely detailed at all. Could it be fake?"

"Wasn't this Gecko Moria one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea who supposedly died in the Summit War two years ago? I never expected him to still be alive. They really are all monsters!"

"What kind of lousy news is this? Why are there no details about how Kaido was defeated?"

But Absalom could not be blamed for that. For one thing, Gecko Moria had acted too little during the battle. Even after racking his brains, Absalom could only write about Gecko Moria's past glories. But what readers cared about was how Kaido of the Beasts had been defeated, not Gecko Moria's past "glorious" exploits.

Secondly, Absalom himself had been unconscious for quite some time. He had barely seen any of the exciting parts and could only rely on his imagination to write it. Asking him to find out what had actually happened?
