A massive splash suddenly erupted beside the Thousand Sunny. Any seasoned pirate would recognize that thunderous sound and towering spray at once—it was the splash caused by cannon fire.

It was an enemy attack!

"An enemy attack?" Everyone looked stunned. Those shells were no joke; if the Thousand Sunny had taken a direct hit just now, there would have been only one outcome—utter destruction!

Although the Thousand Sunny had been built from Treasure Tree Adam, its defenses were not invincible.

"Pirates, or the Navy?"

Since they had come under attack, they naturally had to locate their enemy and confirm their identity.

The Straw Hat Crew had gained quite a few allies since returning, but they seemed to have gained even more enemies instead.

"It's the Navy!" Several Giant Battleships bearing the Navy insignia could be seen in the distance. Clearly, the Navy had discovered their whereabouts.

As for why the Navy was here, no one was interested in finding out, nor did they have time to consider it.

"Tch, at a time like this?" Dragon D. William muttered irritably.

He knew that the Navy—or the World Government—had likely guessed that they had obtained the coordinates of Laugh Tale, and had come to stop them.

If that was true, then the force before them was merely a search party, though its strength was clearly not weak.

If that was the case, then they could not afford to stay here for long.

The longer they delayed, the more disadvantageous it would become for them.

Although only Pirate King Gol D. Roger had found Laugh Tale in history, Dragon D. William believed that the World Government definitely knew Laugh Tale's true location.

The World Government might even know the secret concerning nepiee that had been buried on Laugh Tale.
