Background

Neji's first documented life begins when a modern soul occupies the shattered body of four-year-old Hyuga Neji after Hizashi Hyuga is sacrificed in place of his twin brother Hiashi and Neji's mother dies soon after. Inherited as a Branch House child, he outwardly accepts the clan's doctrine of sacrifice while privately rejecting the Caged Bird system and resolving never to become someone else's offering. 1 2

He secretly develops Qi cultivation, the Primordial Bagua Diagram, and original combat arts while the Main House underestimates him. After surviving assassination attempts and exposing the danger posed by Kosuke's faction, he leverages Tsunade's protection to leave Konoha as her disciple. 11 14 28

During a mission from the Sage of Six Paths, Neji is sent into another time-space and his soul is transplanted into a dying six-year-old Konoha orphan.
