Ding-a-ling—
A burst of urgent ringing sounded.
Qian jolted awake from his dream and lifted his head. He saw a dozen or so Leaf shinobi walking in from outside, the man in the lead holding a document pouch.
The words "Top Secret" were written on it with perfect clarity.
With that, what was inside went without saying.
Clearly, the first round of the Chunin Exams—the written test—was about to begin.
There were none of the flashy testing segments that would come later. After the jonin examiner reassigned their seats, he opened the document pouch and handed out the test papers.
During the process, he only emphasized that cheating was not allowed. As for anything else, he said nothing.
Qian received his paper and gave it a rough scan. The questions were of average difficulty. As long as one's theoretical knowledge was not lacking, passing should not be hard.
But merely passing definitely would not do. He would score as high as he could.
Thinking that, Qian immediately focused and began answering the questions seriously.
As for cheating...
Since the other side had not made things difficult for them with the questions, then the "no cheating" he had mentioned truly meant cheating was not permitted.
Of course, if someone could fool the proctors' eyes, there probably would not be any issue.
But Qian did not need to do that. With his current reserve of knowledge, it was more than enough to earn a good score.
Since that was the case, there was no need to create extra trouble.
Time passed, second by second, minute by minute.
When more than half the exam time had gone by, a voice suddenly broke the silence in the classroom.
"Number 45, you may leave."
