Nature and Formation

Shattered Battlefields are formed when small fragments from beyond a dimensional wall are dragged by Star Beasts and collide with Earth's dimensional wall. Their spatial channels connect the fragments to Earth, creating temporary but hazardous combat zones. 39

They are considered less dangerous than permanently open Void Battlefields, but their internal conditions are unpredictable. Entrants may find resources, beast remains, Secret Treasures, or lethal hostile creatures. 29

• Starry Sky Alien Beasts living inside are protected by the battlefield's rules. 39
• Alien-beast remains can be used as materials for Secret Treasures, making successful expeditions highly profitable. 39
• A battlefield's interior may preserve evidence of its origin as a shattered continent, including ruins, dead forests, battlefield scars, and unidentified humanoid remains. 121

Rules and Collapse

A Shattered Battlefield is destroyed when all Starry Sky Alien Beasts within it are killed. Without its creatures, the battlefield loses the protection of its rules and is annihilated within eight hours. 39

• The death of a lord Star Beast can cause the battlefield's rules to fluctuate and shatter, driving its remaining beasts into panic. 74
• Once the rules fail, military forces can enter in large numbers to kill remaining beasts and conduct a full resource sweep before the collapse deadline. 74 117
• Spatial channels cannot simply be destroyed; doing so would cause spatial tremors capable of collapsing dozens of miles of surrounding terrain. 44
• When a mission cannot be completed, the Military Department may seal the channel and wait for conditions suitable for stronger Martial Artists to intervene. 45
• Entry restrictions are linked to the battlefield's rules. Repeated entries expand its space, accelerate Cosmic Energy injection, and strengthen both the internal energy and lord beast; a major change occurs after five entries. 72

Hazards

• Unstable entry points — Spatial portals usually have fixed exits, but entrants can be displaced to separate locations in rare cases. 42
• Lord Star Beasts — Each battlefield may contain a dominant beast whose strength is enhanced by its status as lord. 43 72
• Cosmic Energy leakage — Escaping Cosmic Energy can attract exotic beasts outside the battlefield and contribute to beast tides. 72 87
• Environmental effects — Some sites are saturated with hostile energy that can weaken Martial Artists, cause serious illness, and damage innate talent. 121
• Rule-based item limits — Items containing power beyond a battlefield's entry rules cannot be brought inside. 44

Military Use

Shattered Battlefields are both crises and military opportunities. Clearing one earns merit, provides cultivation resources, and prevents its Cosmic Energy from worsening regional exotic-beast activity. 29 72 87

• The Military Department stations personnel around spatial channels, monitors rule fluctuations, and prepares life tokens for entrants. 40 72
• Specialized teams may be cultivated at the peak of an entry-eligible realm so they can break through after entering. 72
• Cleanup teams are deployed immediately once a battlefield's rules collapse, collecting resources before the eight-hour destruction window ends. 74 117
