Background / History

Mo Yi is a transmigrator who retained memories from a previous life. When he was ten, a battle between powerful individuals caused a building to collapse near his parents' car, killing them. Their kindness left a lasting impression on him; he resolved to avenge them while valuing the people close to him. 1

He acquired the Little World Game, a golden finger that lets him clear games, gain abilities, and earn the recognition of heroes. Rather than seeking conventional cultivation resources, Mo Yi spent years studying and playing: learning rune magic from Ryze, cooking from Tahm Kench, archery from Ashe, and other skills through dream encounters. He deliberately maintained the identity of an ordinary person, preferring quiet development to reckless exposure. 1 2

After nine years of Honor of Kings, Mo Yi completed the game, became an official Little World Game player, and received the exclusive King of Heroes · Mo Yi reward. This significantly expanded his ability to equip and combine Character Cards. 64

Personality

Mo Yi presents himself as calm, cold, and self-assured, but his parents' death and kindness give him a strong attachment to those around him. He is proud, stubborn, and unwilling to yield, even when his growth appears slow compared with other transmigrators. 1

He approaches battles like games: observing opponents, identifying their habits, testing counters, and preserving decisive abilities for the right moment. He is also cautious about overcommitting, frequently retreating or changing tactics when a fight becomes unfavorable. 17 1278

Despite his preference for a relaxed life of gaming, Mo Yi consistently protects companions, trains those seeking strength, and takes responsibility when a threat endangers others. He also has a mischievous side, frequently teasing friends and embellishing his techniques with dramatic names and poses. 639 1030

Abilities & Skills

Little World Game and Character Cards

Mo Yi's golden finger grants rewards for clearing games and obtaining heroes' recognition. He can equip Character Cards to borrow heroes' powers, skills, forms, and knowledge.

  • Character Cards have a hidden state, which grants powers without changing his appearance, and an activated state, which transforms his appearance and substantially increases output. 17
  • Activated-state combat rapidly drains Magic Power and lasts about three minutes at full output. 17
  • Card-derived powers are versatile but are not fully his own; their performance depends on Magic Power, personal output, and understanding of the equipped hero. 17 38
  • After receiving King of Heroes · Mo Yi, he can maintain five card slots rather than choosing a single daily card. 64
  • He has used cards and techniques associated with Zed, Zilean, Bard, Yuumi, Fiora, Udyr, Aurelion Sol, Kayle, Garen, Syndra, and others. 17 45 232 1279

Magic Power and Heroic Moment

Mo Yi possesses a Magic Power energy seed capable of absorbing and converting other energies, including Honkai Energy.

  • Honkai Energy cannot corrupt him; his energy seed converts it into Magic Power. 19
  • Heroic Moment multiplies all of his attributes tenfold for three minutes. 166
  • Its aftermath is a three-hour weakened “Sage State,” and it has a twenty-four-hour cooldown. 166
  • While Heroic Moment is active, he can temporarily break past fixed Character Card skills and wield a hero's deeper power. 232

Light of the Heart

The Light of the Heart is Mo Yi's innate ability and personal development path. Xiao Huo is its sentient manifestation and assists him in cultivating it. 221 398

  • Enables telepathy, mental intrusion, mental influence, and telekinetic manipulation. 222
  • Can materialize mental power and perform limited conceptual interference; slowing Xiao Huo's time by half quickly exhausts her. 222
  • Allows Xiao Huo to share learned knowledge directly with Mo Yi's memories. 398
  • Through Human-Fire Unity or Fire Cat Mode, Mo Yi and Xiao Huo fully synchronize, improving his attributes, perception, and control over the Light of the Heart. 291
  • Mo Yi can use the Light of the Heart to strengthen, create, manipulate, and destroy matter and rules. 1278

Rune Magic, Plant Arts, and Spell Cards

Mo Yi learned rune magic from Ryze and applies it to enchanting, item creation, defense, and direct combat. 1 238

  • He inscribes runes into his body using Magic Power and his soul as a medium, granting high resistance to mystical effects and Honkai Energy. 23
  • Plant King grants control over plants and unusually high affinity from plant life. 293
  • Heart of Nature improves his affinity with natural energy, recovery, perception, physical fitness, and natural Magic Power growth. 298
  • Shattering Fire is his first Spell Card, created by adapting an existing hero skill to Gensokyo's Spell Card system. 314

Mobility, Defense, and Rule-Based Skills

Several early game rewards operate according to rigid, logic-bending rules.

  • Mo Paopao doubles his speed while fleeing, guarantees evasion of attacks from behind, and turns a theoretical one-in-ten-thousand chance of escape into certainty. 1
  • Riding EX lets him perfectly control any object or being he recognizes as a mount, enhancing its performance and channeling many of his abilities through it. 1 473
  • Fruit Sword Saint gives him a guaranteed ability to cut incoming objects, allowing even a hand blade to intercept an attacking pillow. 15
  • Five Coward Shields provide layered defense; they can block powerful attacks but were eventually shattered under Susanoo's assault. 989
  • Limit Release Mode is a last-resort technique with a 100-day cooldown that destroys the activated Character Card afterward. 17

Time, Space, and Special Modes

Mo Yi employs time and space powers primarily through Zilean, Bard, and other Character Cards.

  • He can create spatial portals through Bard's Magical Journey and temporarily restrain targets with Harmony of Fate. 38
  • He has used Zilean-derived time manipulation, including King Crimson, to freeze or erase an interval of time and attack an opponent's weaknesses. 232
  • Time Stop becomes weaker and shorter against opponents with exceptionally high energy levels. 1278
  • Herrscherification can amplify a compatible Character Card's effect in the Honkai world, but seals Magic Power-dependent abilities from other cards. 450
  • His Cosmo is an independent energy system linking body and soul; its techniques include Morning Peacock, Burn, Cosmo, and Ninth Sense: Amala Consciousness. 685 772 1129
