Second Dog's Haul

Second Dog was depressed.

Extremely depressed.

It had originally been a wild dog in the mountains of Longyou Circuit. By a stroke of fortune, it had absorbed some essence of the sun and moon, awakened its intelligence overnight, and become a demon.

After several hundred years of braving wind and dew, hiding east and dodging west, it had finally cultivated to the Bone-Chiming Realm. Just when it thought it could be considered a Demon King in its own right, that old thing calling himself White Ape Lord had slapped it to the ground and taken it in as one of his lackey dogs.

And it had served like that for more than ten years.

Diligent and hardworking, bearing burdens without complaint, it had finally endured until the day that old thing was about to roll up his bedding and return to the Demon Court.

That was the Western Regions Demon Court.

Legend said it was the holy land of the Demon Race, a true paradise.

There, the Demon Race walked openly beneath heaven, no longer needing to hide and conceal themselves. They could even pen humans like pigs and dogs, granting life or death as their hearts pleased.

Yet at this very critical juncture, White Ape Lord had apparently gone mad and insisted on waiting here for that child of his who did not know whether he was dead or alive.

At the mention of that child, Second Dog felt even worse.

He was nothing more than a tiger who had stepped in dog shit, like Second Dog itself, luckily awakening his intelligence and having some connection to White Ape Lord.
