Fight Speed with Speed

Pale blue light spread across Apocalypse's hand as he slowly swept it toward the cell.

Moments later, Quicksilver and Wanda saw something strange.

The alloy bars and energy wall twisted 180 degrees, like an abstract painting, and a hole appeared in the middle.

Apocalypse had warped space, forcibly stretching it open.

From the outside, the energy wall and alloy bars looked distorted, but their positions in four-dimensional space had not changed at all.

It was like light passing from air into water. To someone outside, the light appeared bent, refracted.

But to the light itself, it was still traveling straight ahead.

That was why the energy wall had not exploded. As far as it was concerned, its course had never changed.

The opening was small, but Quicksilver could duck through it.

"You can come out now."

Quicksilver was skeptical. He cautiously reached through the opening.

Wanda reached toward him too, and the siblings' hands touched lightly.

Overjoyed, Quicksilver flashed out of the cell in a blur and wrapped Wanda in a tight embrace.

By then, the shouts of Hydra soldiers were drawing closer.

Apocalypse said, "There'll be a little trouble in a moment. Let's talk once we're outside."

With that, he drove a fist upward.

The ground erupted like a volcano. With a boom, dirt sprayed everywhere.

Shielded from the earth by a barrier of divine power, Apocalypse emerged through the hole with Wanda and Quicksilver.

The Hydra soldiers had just charged down the passage into the dungeon, carrying state-of-the-art energy guns.

When they saw Apocalypse and the others leave, some gave chase.

The rest noticed the bizarre round opening in Quicksilver's cell and gathered around to look.

One soldier even reached cautiously through it, as Quicksilver had, to see if it was real.
