Arrest

Apocalypse sensed the changes in his body.

A strange energy had indeed tried to stimulate his body just now, to shrink it.

Clearly, that energy had come from the Pym Particles in the Ant-Man Suit.

But this was where the terrifying power of the Ninefold Divine Body showed itself.

Apocalypse had not consciously done a thing. His body had instinctively released energy to resist the Pym Particles.

The suit had shrunk as intended, while Apocalypse had not changed at all.

The result was what lay before him: his body had ripped the shrinking suit apart.

Scott Lang picked up the Ant-Man Suit with tweezers and placed it in a small glass bottle.

"Scott, see if you can fix it," Apocalypse said.

In the original story, Scott had made some modifications to the Ant-Man Suit, so he could evidently understand its circuitry.

Perhaps it was those modifications that later let him use the Enlarging Flying Ring to pull himself out of the Quantum Realm.

"I'll try."

Scott prodded the button on the suit's left hand with a needle.

Nothing happened.

Scott spread his hands. "If the suit won't grow, I can't repair it."

"The energy inside must have run out," Apocalypse guessed.

When the suit had fought against his body's instinctive resistance, it had plainly poured out all the energy it could.

In that brief instant, it had used up every Pym Particle stored inside.

Without Pym Particles, the suit was worthless.

Apocalypse thought for a moment. "Scott, take the bottle back and apologize to its owner."

"What?"

Scott was baffled.

He had wrecked the owner's home and even blown open the vault door.

Wouldn't returning the suit now be walking straight into a trap?
