Dr. Pym wasn't worrying over nothing. It really was possible.
In the original plot of Ant-Man 2, Ava had thrust her hand into his neck and used the threat to steal the shrunken laboratory building.
If he refused, her quantum hand would turn solid, killing him on the spot.
Apocalypse smiled. "You have a point. So she needs a suit."
Dr. Pym looked away, unable to meet his eyes. "Wh-what suit? I only have one."
Apocalypse smiled. "Really? Then who does the women's Wasp Suit in your basement belong to?"
"Dr. Pym, you know Hope can't be your little jelly bean forever. You've already prepared it for her."
"If your little jelly bean has to face the world sooner or later, wouldn't taking her first step under my protection be the safest way?"
Dr. Pym fell silent.
Ever since he invented Pym Particles and the Ant-Man Suit, the Pym family had been destined never to live ordinary lives again.
Just like Iron Man's family.
These days, superheroes and supervillains were everywhere. Being an ordinary person was actually more dangerous than being a superhero; ordinary people had no way to protect themselves.
But after the accident that befell his wife, Janet, Dr. Pym had been haunted by it.
He was so afraid of losing his daughter too that he'd gone to all this trouble.
Otherwise, Scott Lang would never have gotten the chance.
Now Apocalypse's words had struck home.
If his daughter was going to become a superhero sooner or later, what could be safer than taking her first step under the Apocalypse King's protection?
When Dr. Pym said nothing, Apocalypse turned to Hope. "Your dad agreed. Let's go, little jelly bean."
Hope glared at him. "Who said you could call me that? That's what my mom calls me. You can't."
