Interlude: Volume Three

The northern campaign is officially over here. I'd originally wondered whether I should split it into volumes, but then I thought, since the title of this volume is Founding the Nation, I still need to deal with the kingdom's internal affairs before it can be considered complete. Although I'm not splitting the volume here, I can still share some volume thoughts. Hehe, d(ωd).

The northern campaign actually did not last very long, but it introduced many new characters. This was the author's first attempt at bringing in so many characters and handling so many hidden plot threads.

Because of the loose structure of the Dog-kin tribal alliance, there were bound to be all kinds of chiefs and generals exerting influence over political and military decisions. And these characters themselves had different personalities, their own pursuits, and conflicts with other characters, all of which jointly pushed the plot forward.

The entire northern campaign was divided into two parts: the campaign against the western Dog-kin of Red Fox Valley, and the campaign against the eastern Dog-kin of Pamus Valley. Among the western Dog-kin were Red Fox Chief Oztohua, Red Fox general Ivicán, Red Frog Chief Caca, Red Frog general Miwa, Red Cat Chief Miztli, Red Crow old priest Kakalot, and Red Crow personal guard Moqi.

Among the eastern Dog-kin were Red Dog Chieftain Chichica, Red Dog general Uman, Red Dog old priest Zuma, Red Monkey Chieftain Ozoma, Red Deer Chief Masat, Red Salamander Chieftain Axolotl, Tarasco general Zukata, and Tarasco militia Chipawa.

Of course, there was also the hidden thread running through the entire northern campaign: the migration of the Red Crow Tribe, as well as important future characters, Red Crow Chieftain Amoxi and the girl Alan.
