Divine Smoke curled through the hall, bringing the breath of the gods; sunlight spilled down from the zenith, bestowing a divine radiance. The priests' great hall was solemn and ancient, extraordinarily sturdy, built with white granite as its base and dark-red volcanic rock as its roof, bound together with maize mortar. Xolotl, dressed in Black Wolf priestly robes, likewise sat cross-legged on a raised seat, occupying the newly added last seat among the elders.

At the outermost edge stood dozens of Temple Paladins, each gripping a sharp Copper Axe, wearing beast helms that covered their faces, resolute as statues. They had dedicated everything to the Main God and sworn lifelong celibacy; only then had they earned the honor of guarding the priests' great hall.
