"Rumble! Rumble!"
Rolling thunder echoed through the cloud-blackened sky, like the roar of the God of Storms, heralding the coming height of the rainy season.
"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Cannon fire thundered from the Mexica People's siege formation, like the wrath of a thunder god, bringing the cry of death's descent!
"Crack! Ah!"
Along with the thunder of heaven and earth, eight perfectly round stone shot blasted from the golden mouths of the Copper Beasts. Carrying unstoppable force, they slammed into the stubbornly defended walls of Tree Snake City. The eight- or nine-meter-high walls were already smeared with blood from top to bottom, with dark-red clots of flesh everywhere, blackened by the scorch of flames.
"Cloud Snake, shelter me!"
Seeing the stone shot come crashing in, the brave Cloud Snake Hunters had no choice but to crouch and take cover at once, praying uneasily to the God of the Hunt. Though these stone shot were few in number, each carried the force of ten thousand jun; so long as one struck the defenders on the wall, certain death followed. Even the bravest Tlaxcalan warriors could not withstand the slightest bit of it!
After only a few breaths, the heavy stone shot came hurtling in. The Large Shields and wooden boards set up on the wall were smashed through in an instant, followed by shrieks so piercing they scarcely sounded human.
"Ah!... Ngh! Crash!"
The stone shot shattered the wooden shields, and countless splinters of wood sprayed backward like splashing blades, slicing across the Militia's bare bodies and bursting into a mist of blood. Faced with the Mexica People's god-gifted weapons, the dozens of Militia nearby were terrified out of their wits. They fled desperately to either side, and some even leapt from the wall.
