The Bonds of Love and Parting

Tsunade wandered the streets of Konoha in a daze. Her vacant gaze drifted across the bustling shops as she murmured, "Shadow, you promised you'd come back. You bastard. You broke your word. You're just a little dog who can't keep a promise." Her voice trembled with tears. Amid the crowds and laughter, she was an island alone. None of it reached her. All that remained in her world was a promise he could never keep, a blade that cut into her heart again and again.

Before she knew it, Tsunade had stopped outside a tavern. This was where they had once drunk and laughed together. Her gaze grew distant. Through the door, she could almost see them sitting across from each other, clinking cups, their eyes fixed on one another as their laughter filled the air. She hesitated, then stepped inside.

The familiar scent of wine curled around her, calling her back to those days. She sat in a corner and ordered a flask. Raising her cup, she drained it in one swallow. Wine spilled down her chin and soaked her clothes, but she didn't notice. Every moment she had spent with him flashed through her mind: his gentle eyes, his quiet words, his warm embrace... Each memory pierced her heart like a needle.

"Why did you leave... Why..." Tsunade whispered over and over. Waves of anguish battered what little composure she had left. People nearby noticed.
