Found Where He Least Expected

While the two filled out their forms, Takuya happened to spot a little girl in a wizard's hat walking past.

He hadn't seen her face, but he was certain she was Huihui. That outfit could only belong to her.

Takuya called out to Huihui and asked her name. Once she confirmed it, he invited her to join his adventuring party. Huihui hesitated at first. She had joined several parties before, only to leave when they decided they didn't want her. Now that someone was inviting her again, she couldn't quite make up her mind.

But when Takuya said food and lodging were included, Huihui agreed at once. She took an application form from him, sat down in the empty seat beside him, and began filling it out.

Takuya wasn't surprised. Huihui hadn't eaten in days.

Smiling, he went to the food counter, bought four meals, and brought them back.

"Are you still hungry?"

Takuya asked.

Kazuma shook his head. "No, I'm full."

Even as he said it, his gaze kept drifting toward the food Takuya had brought.

The delicious smell wafted right into his nose.

Takuya had noticed from a distance that Kazuma and Aqua hadn't eaten much for lunch, so he said, "Have some more. I already bought it."

Aqua and Huihui promptly took their portions without a trace of hesitation.

At Takuya's urging, Kazuma accepted his portion too, looking a little embarrassed. "Well, I guess I could eat a bit more."

Takuya dug in as well. Once all four had finished, he led Kazuma, Aqua, and Huihui out of town.

The quest to form an adventuring party had been completed. Since Darkness was the only one who hadn't joined, its completion rate was around seventy-five percent.
