A place called Sinking Boat Reef lay 1,300 kilometers northeast of the Jade Whale Archipelago. As its name implied, hidden reefs were everywhere here, and many mortal ships had sunk due to inexperience.

This place lay 3,000 kilometers due north of Fengle Island. It was an important marker point in the Allied Army's blockade zone, as well as a vital navigational beacon on the route from the Jade Whale Sect to the New Continent. The First Guard Station's command headquarters was on an artificial island 600 kilometers east of here, the Ninth Stronghold in official records.

This was the most convenient route for the Jade Whale Sect to break through. Otherwise, they could only detour through the Far Northern Seas, which would take more than three times as long as this route.

In order to end the battle quickly, Situ Hai directly dispatched an elite fleet as the vanguard, equipped with two of the newest large combat flying vessels, intending to seize this place at the first opportunity.

However, because Situ Hai was overly cautious, what should originally have been a ten-hour journey for the vanguard was forcibly stretched into fifteen hours.

This gave the First Guard Station ample time to establish its defensive line. Coupled with an endless stream of logistical supplies, this area might not have been impregnable, but it was certainly a formidable defensive fortress.

The force responsible for this interception mission was the First Guard Station's First Regiment main force. Its commander, Duan Cheng, was an old hand among the Eastern Sea Prefectural Soldiers. Since joining the Prefectural Soldier System, he had fought on the front lines, cultivating all the way from an initial Qi Refinement Practitioner to the Entry Realm.
