Qin Fen looked at the flight attendant with a thousand things he wanted to say. Luckily, he had hung the Invisibility Talisman around Little Bean's neck before they left. All he had to do now was activate it with a shout. But he couldn't speak, and his expression grew strained—not because he had been caught off guard or feared Little Bean would cause trouble, but because it would cost him another damn three hundred Merit. He was running out.
He activated it silently, pulled his bag closer, and pretended to look inside. The air rippled strangely as Little Bean sprang onto Big Chef. Qin Fen put the bag away, smiled at the flight attendant, and sat down. Little Bean sprawled across his lap and peered around.
Little Bean glanced at the woman beside them and gave a sly grin. Those legs could keep him entertained for a year.
The plane flew smoothly, without incident. There was no bizarre hijacking, either; that would have been ridiculous. Qin Fen drifted off to sleep, while Little Bean let his head droop lazily. The space was too cramped for claiming territory to feel like much of an achievement.
"Sir, please watch what you're doing!" The flight attendant's voice suddenly rose.
Qin Fen raised an eyebrow and slowly woke. Ahead of him, near the aisle, a middle-aged man was shrugging at the flight attendant. Her face was tight with displeasure.
"Sorry, I bumped into you by accident!" the man said with a smile.
The flight attendant looked as though she had stepped in something foul. "It's fine." She hurried away as if fleeing the plague.
