Watching a group approach, the assistant frowned. Sheng Xiaoying had no idea what was going on, but Qin Fen thought he knew: he had spotted Liu Dong, the young man who had clashed with Wei Qiang that morning.
Qin Fen had clearly seen Liu Dong's surprise when he got out of the car. Add the whispered conversation, and the conclusion was obvious. Beat the disciple, and the master came calling. A classic novel cliché. Shit.
"Hello, I'm Chen Muyuan! It's a pleasure to meet you. May I ask your name?" The man at the front wore a smile, and his small mustache gave him a friendly, easygoing air.
His accent was a little off, though. And that last question made the order of his greeting rather strange.
Sheng Xiaoying found it amusing. He had greeted someone before asking their name. What an odd man.
Qin Fen was not amused. Trouble had come looking for him. As a man, he was not about to back down. Besides, Chef Qin did not regret teaching Liu Dong a lesson. Liu Dong could say Wei Qiang's skills were lacking, but he had to take back his claim that traditional martial arts were all for show. It insulted the hard-won knowledge their ancestors had refined over countless years!
"Qin Fen!" Seeing the offered hand, Qin Fen extended his own. Courtesy? He had that. Tricks? Bring them on. He would play along to the end.
Their hands met. On the surface, it was a casual handshake, but the contest had already begun.
Holding Qin Fen's hand, Chen Muyuan smiled brightly for the onlookers. "I'm Liu's master. I'm from Korea, and I'm half Chinese. It's a pleasure to meet you." As he spoke, he tightened his grip.
"Is that so? The pleasure's mine." Qin Fen squeezed back.
