The Big Chef Challenges the Heavenly Dao, and Guanyin Is Convinced

Qin Fen had the video feed open. He couldn't see what was going through their heads, but he could see both their expressions change in an instant.

"It's fine. Give me a little time, and it shouldn't be too difficult!" Qin Fen added. Stay calm, Guanyin. You're not fighting alone.

Guanyin nearly choked. How powerful are you? This man had to be a Quasi-Religious Leader at the very least, perhaps even a Religious Leader. In other words, he was at least a Quasi-Saint. It wasn't as though she had never met a Quasi-Saint; she herself was only one step away.

The Yan Emperor was thinking much the same thing. Not just anyone could say something like that.

Qin Fen was being generous. He thought they were stunned by the matter of Jingwei. After all, her predicament was notorious: a thorny problem the Heavenly Court had been unable to solve for ages. If he was going to attempt the impossible, he needed confidence and courage.

Qin Fen had plenty of confidence. Even if it didn't work out, he had nothing to lose. Courage was no problem either. The Big Chef had always believed in trying things for himself. How else would he know how difficult they were?

So he really was being generous. To build a little suspense, he had even said he needed time. That would make him sound more credible: Qin Fen was taking this seriously and would give it his all. His resolve would give Guanyin confidence. Otherwise, how was he supposed to get her to cast the spell later? For all his bluster, Qin Fen was still an ordinary mortal who could barely fight.

All he could do was tag along and play a minor part.

But that wasn't what the other two were thinking at all.
