Why me again? A cloud raced through the sky toward the Earthly Immortal Realm. How fast was it? You had asked the right person: "I don't know" said it all. It was really damn fast. But no matter how fast it went, Li Jing was in no mood to care. He was no fool. Dong Re was connected to the Natural Daoist, and that fellow was downright uncanny. Best not to get involved.
Li Jing wore a melancholy expression, but the Four Heavenly Kings behind him felt differently. They had been through less, after all, and had no particular worries. Getting out for some fresh air instead of standing guard at the Southern Heavenly Gate made them quite happy.
"No need to worry, Heavenly King. He's just a Demon King!"
Li Jing was not convinced. He would just have to take things one step at a time. Heaven knew how this would end.
Outside the nightclub, things were still awkward. Big Chef was utterly frustrated. He had come to check out the renovations and their results, yet he had not seen a damn thing so far. Still, getting rid of the threat posed by Roc was something, at least.
Just as Old Ox was about to break the awkward silence between the three of them, the sky suddenly changed, and a vast bank of clouds descended overhead. Li Jing flicked his shoulder mantle, his cape fluttering in the wind as he strode forward with a swagger.
The Four Heavenly Kings lined up behind him, imposing and majestic. A host of heavenly soldiers held their weapons at the ready, radiating power. One look at their disciplined ranks made it clear that the rabble of lesser demons below could not compare.
The arrival of the Heavenly Court's forces immediately stirred up new
