As soon as Meng Qingzi finished, the others nodded and turned puzzled gazes toward their lord. Even they had sensed something amiss; they could not believe their lord had failed to notice.

Yet judging by his behavior, their lord seemed certain that a deal with King Fanyang was possible. Unless he too intended to break his word, it was truly hard to believe. But from what they knew of him, he was not someone who went back on his promises like Liu Bang, which only left them more confused.
