Kailun looked at Dilo's beaming face and said uneasily, "Are you sure this won't cause trouble? We've cut off the Dawn City Lord's path to sainthood!"

Dilo raised an eyebrow and patted his old friend's shoulder. "Relax. Keep the Misfortune Divine Artifact hidden. Even if someone finds out, they can't come after us without proof.

"Besides, our paths to sainthood were cut off too. Are we supposed to just swallow that?

"Rogers claimed he couldn't control it back then, so what the hell was he doing hanging around us?

"Don't tell me he was passing by. That scheming bastard was there to steal our fortune."

"You're sure?"

"The Sunset Emperor is my own brother. You think he'd sell me out?" Dilo asked incredulously.

Kailun nodded thoughtfully. "Fair enough. But if they need a scapegoat, you can't betray me, brother."

"Relax. We've been brothers for over twenty years. Never."

Back at the palace,

William was still staring at the Sunset Emperor with a deadpan expression.

They had signed plenty of cooperation agreements by now.

But neither the compensation nor the identity of whoever had fired that shot had been settled. His Highness had no intention of leaving. He would sit in this palace and wait Dilo's brother out.

Time passed.

They sat there from morning until afternoon.

Apart from drinking tea, neither moved an inch.

At last,

a voice sounded in Di Yu's mind.

"Your Majesty, we've found the culprit who attacked the Dawn City Lord."

Di Yu closed his eyes. Was it who I thought?
