Yet her expression remained calm, as though nothing had happened.
"Your combat form was highly creative, but your body could not keep up with your creativity.
Your skeletal strength was insufficient, your muscle density was insufficient, and your neural conduction speed was insufficient.
You used your imagination to create a perfect combat form, but you built it with Skrull biological material.
And Skrull material was far too fragile for me."
The Skrull's body began to shrink, contracting from a three-meter-tall monster back to the size of an ordinary human.
He knelt on the ground, bracing himself against the floor with both hands as he gasped for breath.
His skin changed from dark gray back to the Skrulls' original green. Pointed ears poked through his tangled hair, and his pupils returned to reptilian slits.
"What... kind of monster... are you?" he asked between gasps.
"That is not something you need to know. You only need to come with me."
Alice crouched down until she was at eye level with him. The blue light from the gem in her forehead illuminated his green face.
She reached out and pressed a hand against the Skrull's forehead.
The Skrull's body went rigid. His pupils constricted violently, and his mouth fell open, but no sound came out.
He felt a powerful force invade his consciousness, but it was not reading his memories.
Loren had told her not to damage his genes, so Alice did not use the Mind Stone's memory-reading ability.
She was merely scanning his physical condition, confirming the integrity of his genes and ensuring that he was a qualified specimen.
A few seconds later, she withdrew her hand.
"Your genes are intact. Very good." Alice rose
