Chu Hang landed in front of the last World Engine.
This thing was much larger than the previous one. Its core was half-buried underground, and the exposed portion alone stood five stories tall. Its surface was covered in Kryptonian writing and glowing energy circuits, densely packed like blood vessels.
Superman landed behind him but kept his distance.
"What are you going to do?"
Chu Hang did not answer. He stepped closer and placed a hand on it.
The metal was cold, but its texture was strange. Its density was incredibly high, and its molecular structure formed perfect geometric patterns—not any alloy found on Earth.
More importantly, he could sense the energy within the machine.
This energy was different from that of the previous one. The earlier machine had merely been a gravity field generator, while this one was far more complex. It was not only altering Earth's physical structure but also attempting to rewrite the fundamental rules of this region.
Chu Hang closed his eyes and sent his consciousness inward.
The World Engine's core was a miniature black hole, perfectly restrained by Kryptonian technology. Surrounding the black hole were twelve layers of energy shields and thirty-six gravity nodes. The entire system was precise to the extreme, every component carrying out a preset program.
But a crack had appeared in the system.
Between the seventh and eighth shield layers was a faint fluctuation—a hidden danger Zod had left behind when he forcibly increased the power to speed up the process.
The crack was expanding.
Within half an hour, the system would lose control. By then, this machine would become a ticking bomb, powerful enough to blow away half of Metropolis.
Superman had clearly realized the danger as well. He stepped forward, preparing to destroy the machine with brute force.
"Don't move."
