A spatial rift tore open, and Chu Hang stepped into Chronopolis.
Time had frozen. Light hung in the air as twisted crystals, and everything stood still in a vast, lifeless tableau.
He looked up.
Everywhere he looked, there were Kangs.
Tens of thousands of them. They stood on floating platforms, atop towering spires, and along the edges of every spacetime rift. Their armor came in countless designs, and the strength of the temporal energy around them varied, but they all watched him with the same look: cold, appraising, and hiding a trace of fear.
"Welcome to Chronopolis, Greedy One."
A voice rang out from every direction, heavy with the judgment of someone looking down from above.

"Paid?"
Chu Hang laughed. He slowly raised his right hand and closed it around the empty air.
Crack—
The temporal stasis shattered. No outside force had broken it; the very foundation of its existence had been pulled away.
Frozen time fractured like fragile glass into countless motes of light, all of which vanished into his palm.
He opened his hand. The motes were gone.
"You seem to have misunderstood something." Chu Hang's voice
