Su Yu: What Happened?

The God of Kindness waved a hand and turned her gaze to Su Yu, who lay on the bed. A rare hint of amusement touched her voice:

"When he wakes, tell him yourself. From today on, whether you call yourself Ah Yin or choose another name, you belong to him. Remember what you promised me."

White light flashed, and her spectral figure vanished.

The room fell quiet again.

Ah Yin stood where she was in an emerald-green dress, her long blue hair falling to her waist. Moonlight streamed through the window lattice and cast a soft glow around her.

She turned toward the sleeping young man on the bed and stood silent for a long time.

Then she went to his bedside and knelt. Resting one hand on the edge of the bed, she gently pressed her forehead against its back and closed her eyes.

"From today on..." Ah Yin whispered, so softly she could barely be heard. "I belong to you."

Her voice had lost its cool, ethereal quality. It was hoarse with tears.

Her roots curled up inside the Jade Box, as though she wanted to hide herself in its deepest corner.

Her son did not even know she existed.

"Would it make any difference if you were there?"

The God of Kindness's question echoed through her mind again and again, a thorn digging ever deeper.
