Thunder God and Hong are close friends despite the rivalry between Thunder Dojo and the Ultimate Martial Arts Hall. The organizations’ competition is primarily driven by their subordinates; the two leaders maintain a cooperative relationship and do not interfere with it. 63

He first contacts Xiao Yang during a trade for Spirits of Plants and Trees. Thunder God readily agrees to send his collection for exchange, but jokingly complains that Xiao Yang is too selective to be satisfied with Hong’s treasures. 52 He later meets Xiao Yang in person at Hong’s alloy training hall and is impressed that Xiao Yang reached the Planetary Level before turning eighteen. 62 63

After witnessing Xiao Yang’s perfected version of World Annihilation, Thunder God learns its revised force-linking principle alongside Hong. Both senior fighters quickly produce twofold force exertion and promise Xiao Yang future favors despite his refusal to demand payment. 63

Training with Xiao Yang and Hong

Thunder God assists Xiao Yang’s experiment with defensive Force-Exertion, repeatedly striking him with nearly identical, carefully controlled punches. Xiao Yang adapts from being driven back eleven steps to standing unmoved, while Thunder God and Hong help develop the theory’s applications to defense and speed. 64
