Background / History

Juechenzi was Cloudrise Immortal Sect’s previous peerless prodigy. He rose through the sect from the Heavenly Prodigy Assembly and entrance examination to the true-disciple rankings, earning the floating Juechen Island through his victories over other gifted disciples. After reaching a higher realm, he moved to the sect’s forbidden grounds; the island was sealed as a memorial and remained vacant for centuries. 107

After sleeping for several hundred years, Juechenzi encountered Lin Qing in the Ten-Thousand Mountains. Impressed by Lin Qing’s five Spirit Veins and his theory of the Five Elements’ generating and restraining cycle, he offered to accept him as a disciple. He patiently addressed Lin Qing’s concern that he intended possession, explaining that a foreign body and Divine Soul would reject one another and ruin future advancement. 105

Juechenzi brought Lin Qing into Cloudrise Immortal Sect as his personal disciple. He provided a storage ring containing more than ten million Spirit Stones, a cultivation-concealing formation, and a Divine Sense imprint for emergencies. Although he supported Lin Qing with resources and protection, he did not intend to settle Lin Qing’s grievances in Great Qi for him, believing his disciple should handle problems within his own ability. 106

Soon afterward, Juechenzi left the sect to travel through the outer domains, settle old debts, and pursue his Dao. He remained available through his Divine Sense mark, intervening when Lin Qing faced threats beyond his realm. 107

While seeking a complete Eleventh-Tier cultivation art in Central Continent, Juechenzi disappeared. His soul lamp dimmed sharply, showing that he was alive but in severe condition; he had in fact been imprisoned and tortured by the Lingxiao Sword Sect for years. 165 268 273

Lin Qing ultimately found Juechenzi in the sect’s deepest prison, broke his Eleventh-Tier restraints by hand, and restored his injuries with Life Intent. Juechenzi returned to Cloudrise Immortal Sect, reunited with Qing Yao, and later received authority over Eastern Profound’s defensive formations and other assets before Lin Qing departed Heavenmist World. 273 281 303

His admiration for Lin Qing’s talent was genuine, though he retained confidence in his own path and openly stated that Lin Qing might not necessarily reach his realm. 105

He encourages independence in his disciple. Juechenzi gave Lin Qing extensive resources and emergency protection, yet refused to interfere personally with Lin Qing’s troubles in Great Qi, judging them beneath his involvement and within Lin Qing’s ability to resolve. 106

Despite his status, he has a relaxed and teasing side, particularly when sharing food and wine with Lin Qing. In battle, however, he is fiercely protective; attacks on Lin Qing provoke immediate hostility, especially from Mingjin. 106 125 143
