As the yokai stared in disbelief, Menma continued explaining, "Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki had a special pair of eyes known as the Rinnegan.
The Rinnegan possessed a powerful Ninjutsu called Planetary Devastation. Once activated, it created a black sphere that automatically floated into the air and slowly rose.
When the black sphere reached a certain height, it generated an immensely powerful gravitational force. The ground within a certain range gradually shattered, and countless rocks of varying sizes were drawn toward the sphere, eventually forming a floating mass resembling a giant meteor.
It could also draw a designated target into the sphere, robbing them of their ability to move under the force of gravity.
Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki used this very Ninjutsu to create the moon and seal Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.
If this Ninjutsu could create enough gravitational force to form the moon, why couldn't it create gravity to draw in the fragments of a shattered planet?"
"Then how could you possibly accomplish such a thing?" Tengu raised the crucial question.
Unhurriedly, Menma explained, "The Rinnegan was not exclusive to Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki. It was a gift of the Ōtsutsuki Clan.
Therefore, theoretically speaking, I too might awaken the Rinnegan."
Tengu shook his head, indicating that he did not agree with Menma's reasoning. "We cannot place our hopes on something uncertain. That is not enough for us to gamble our lives on!"
Menma smiled. "Then there is a second method: find an existing pair of Rinnegan and transplant them into my eyes. That way, I can activate Planetary Devastation at the cost of my life!"
Tengu was somewhat moved, but he soon voiced another doubt. "It sounds feasible, but there are still two problems.
First, according to you, Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki is already dead. How will we solve the problem of obtaining the Rinnegan?
Second, even if we help you acquire the Rinnegan and you successfully transplant them, how can I trust that you will help us rebuild our homeland at the cost of your life?!"
Menma seemed to have considered these matters long ago. "You need not worry about where the Rinnegan will come from. As far as I know, there are currently two pairs of Rinnegan in the Shinobi World—one pair belongs to my clansman, Nagato Uzumaki, while the other belongs to Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.
It is worth mentioning that Nagato Uzumaki's Rinnegan were also transplanted from someone else, proving that transplantation is a viable path!
Furthermore, using the Rinnegan consumes one's life because modern Ninjas possess physiques and bloodlines inferior to those of the Ōtsutsuki Clan. That is why it drains life force.
But I know a secret technique that can extract another person's bloodline and add it to one's own. Once I possess a powerful physique, the drain on my life force will be reduced!"
Tengu pondered for a long while. After sighing, he said, "You have convinced me, but we cannot offer you much more assistance.
To be honest, only a few hundred of the Yokai Host remain, and only a handful of us still possess the strength to fight.
So even if we risk our lives, it may amount to nothing."
Meeting Tengu's eyes, Menma spoke earnestly. "Please do not underestimate yourselves. What I value is not your combat strength, but your experience!
You have experience fighting the Ōtsutsuki Clan, and that is exactly what we currently lack.
Besides, I have an unverified hypothesis. Because our Ninja power system originates from Chakra, we may be countered in battle by the Ōtsutsuki Clan, who wield the same power system. After all, their level of life is higher, and they have cultivated for far longer!
Therefore, we need a new power system—and that is precisely what you possess!
So I formally request that we Ninjas—no, that we humans—form an alliance with the yokai to confront the coming calamity of the Ōtsutsuki Clan together!"
With a solemn expression, Tengu said, "Then, on behalf of the Yokai Host, I agree to an alliance with humanity!"
Having said that, Tengu stepped forward and extended his right hand toward Menma.
Menma raised his small hand and solemnly clasped Tengu's.
This historic moment was recorded by Wall God · Wallfoot, one of the Thirteen Brush Gods of the High Plain of Heaven:
"...At this moment, both sides reached a broad consensus on strengthening comprehensive strategic partnership between Ninjas and yokai, clarifying the direction of efforts and concrete measures for advancing cooperation in such fields as Monster Arts exchanges, Ninjutsu development, taijutsu instruction, mutual summoning, and joint resistance against enemies in the next stage.
Menma Namikaze stated that Ninjas and yokai were good neighbors, good partners, and good brothers. The Shinobi World would steadfastly deepen comprehensive Ninja-yokai strategic cooperation, steadfastly support the High Plain of Heaven in maintaining stability and accelerating development, and steadfastly support the High Plain of Heaven in playing a greater role in the joint struggle against the Ōtsutsuki Clan.
Creating the Ninja-Yokai Bilateral Summoning Scroll was an important decision made by both sides in light of the objective need for the deepening development of Ninja-yokai relations. Ninjas were willing to join yokai in making good use of this important tool, continuously achieving new results in Ninja-yokai strategic cooperation, realizing mutual development, and bringing tangible benefits to both sides.
The Great Tengu stated that he was delighted to become the first extraterrestrial race met by the Shinobi World in over a thousand years. The yokai thanked the Shinobi World for its support and assistance in maintaining the stability and development of the High Plain of Heaven, and they would devote themselves to strengthening all-round cooperation with the Shinobi World. The Ninja-Yokai Bilateral Summoning Scroll was the highest-level cooperation mechanism into which both sides had invested the most effort and which had the broadest range of uses. The yokai would work closely with the Shinobi World, jointly discuss plans for cooperation, and advance Ninja-yokai cooperation in every field..."
After they had reached a preliminary consensus on cooperation, the Great Tengu asked Menma, "As for the plans ahead, what are Lord Namikaze's intentions?"
Menma gazed at the Ninja Continent overhead and said evenly, "The current Shinobi World is still embroiled in internal conflict, so the most urgent task is to improve my own strength!
Only once I become stronger can I unite the Shinobi World's forces against the Ōtsutsuki Clan.
Right now, I am still far too weak. Let alone unifying the Shinobi World, I do not even have the standing to speak!"
The Great Tengu sighed. "Unifying an entire world—how could that possibly be easy?"
Menma smiled faintly. "I already have some plans. As long as I carry them out step by step, I can obtain Kaguya Ōtsutsuki's Rinnegan within four years and defeat the Ōtsutsuki Clan that comes to harvest the fruit within twenty years!"
The Great Tengu nodded. "It is good that Lord Namikaze has a plan. If there is anything you need us to cooperate with, please do not hesitate!"
Menma said with a smile, "Then I will not stand on ceremony. Now that you mention it, I truly do have something to ask of you."
"Please, speak!"
"Please send me back to the Ninja Continent. I arrived here by accident, and I truly do not know the way back."
