Lu Ao slowly moved closer.

Ten meters, eight meters, five meters.

He raised his hand, aimed, and fired.

The steel arrow silently tore through the seawater with tremendous force, striking the giant grouper and piercing straight through its body.

The giant grouper suddenly began struggling, instantly clouding a large patch of seawater.

Its immense strength dragged Lu Ao forward.

Even with his excellent swimming skills, he blew out several streams of bubbles, nearly choking on water.

This giant grouper was even bigger than Lu Ao had imagined, and especially strong.

Lu Ao was already very strong, but underwater, he was no match for the giant grouper.

The giant grouper shot forward, dragging Lu Ao along behind it.

He did not dare pull the line taut, afraid it would snap and make him lose both the arrow and the fish.

The ropes attached to these fish arrows were specially made and could withstand hundreds of kilograms of pulling force, enough for Lu Ao to slowly tire out the giant grouper.

Lu Ao barely steadied himself, keeping from being dragged and rolled along the seabed.

Soon, he realized that the giant grouper was swimming toward the open sea.

Lu Ao's heart tightened. He quickly tugged the fishing line in his hand, swam rapidly to the side to close in on the giant grouper, and drove it toward the shore.

His ability to hold his breath was exceptionally strong. He could stay underwater for more than ten minutes at a time.

For the moment, he could not subdue the giant grouper, and the giant grouper could not break free of the rope left by the steel arrow. The two remained locked in a stalemate, circling back and forth underwater.

During that time, Lu Ao surfaced twice to catch his breath. The giant grouper broke through his blockade several times and tried to flee toward the open sea.

This huge giant grouper was immensely powerful and cunning as well.

Lu Ao did not know how long he had been deadlocked with it.

He was utterly exhausted now, holding on through sheer willpower.

If he still could not hold on after a while, he could only give up this giant grouper, cut the rope with his diving knife, and abandon the fish arrow with it.

Lu Ao's mind was clear. He was so tired that he did not even want to lift a finger, yet he gritted his teeth and held on desperately.

The giant grouper was exhausted as well.

The two remained deadlocked in the sea, almost completely motionless.

Lu Ao quietly let out a breath, loosened the line, and secretly rose to the surface for air. The giant grouper began struggling wildly again, dragging Lu Ao straight toward the seabed.

Lu Ao had not even finished taking a breath before he was dragged back into the water, tumbling helplessly.

The giant grouper moved extremely fast. As Lu Ao rolled through the water, he had no way to steady himself.

The fish arrow's line had tangled around him, and he could not break free.

He reached for the diving knife at the back of his waist, but missed it twice in a row.

Lu Ao forced himself to calm down, though his vision had already begun to blur.

Such violent movements underwater consumed too much oxygen. He was nearly done for.

Once, twice, three times—Lu Ao struggled underwater and finally managed to touch the diving knife at his back.

But just as he was about to pull it out, the giant grouper struggled again. Lu Ao's diving knife was flung to the center of his lower back, beyond his reach once more.

Lu Ao grew anxious. This stretch of water was extremely deep, at least ten meters.

He no longer had the conditions to keep holding on. No matter how reluctant he was, he had to let this giant grouper go.

Lu Ao tried to untangle the line wrapped around his body.

At the thought of letting go now, wasting most of the morning and losing a fish arrow as well, he felt deeply unwilling.

But no matter how unwilling he was, there was nothing he could do. His life mattered more.

With a heavy heart, Lu Ao released a bubble from his throat.

He gritted his teeth and untangled the fishing line. Halfway through, his chest suddenly grew hot.

Lu Ao sensed trouble and hurriedly sped up. But before he could finish untangling the line, his vision blurred, pain shot through every limb and bone, and when he regained consciousness, the slender hands before his eyes had turned into short little claws again!

He had turned into a lizard again!

When Lu Ao turned back into a lizard, part of the fish arrow's line was still tangled around him.

The giant grouper was still struggling.

Only, his wetsuit, flippers, and everything else had all fallen off and been lost.

His mask and snorkel had been lost as well.

He was now nothing but a naked lizard, wrapped in a mess of fishing line and being dragged forward by a giant grouper.

Since childhood, Lu Ao had rarely been in such a bedraggled state.

A trace of anger rose in his heart. He swung a claw and yanked the giant grouper hard toward himself.

He had thought he would not be able to move it, but the giant grouper was dragged into a tumble!

In his lizard form, dragging the giant grouper actually did not take much effort.

Lu Ao was somewhat surprised, but he quickly calmed down and dragged the giant grouper forward.

His lizard form seemed to have grown a little larger than before, and even his claws had lengthened.

The giant grouper, which had originally seemed immensely powerful, now felt merely somewhat strong to him.

Lu Ao gritted his teeth and dragged the giant grouper directly toward the shore.

The giant grouper struggled wildly, but could not break free at all.

After more than ten minutes, Lu Ao finally dragged the giant grouper to shore.

He lay sprawled on the shore, panting hard for a while. Then, recalling the feeling from last time, he transformed back into human form.

A moment later, he stood up in human form and staggered over to the giant grouper stranded by the shore, pulling the fish arrow from its body.

The giant grouper weakly flicked its tail. Lu Ao stretched out both hands and directly hauled the huge giant grouper into his arms.

The giant grouper was extremely heavy, at least forty kilograms. Not only was it heavy, but it kept struggling.

Lu Ao's arms and legs had gone weak. Carrying the giant grouper was extremely difficult, and after much effort, he half-dragged and half-carried it before tossing it into the pool where he kept his fish.

With a splash, the giant grouper fell into the water, flicked its tail, stirred up a spray of water, and sank to the bottom.
