Compared with ordinary members of the clan, this Harpy, who called Gana Mother, had a prettier face and a much wider wingspan. The wind magic swirling around her was purer, too. Most striking of all, her wings were not the usual brown but a vivid blue-green and red. Her name was Famu of the Phantom Eagle Clan. She was Gana's second daughter, born years ago to a direct descendant of the Fang Clan, and a genius expected to reach the Transcendent Tier before thirty. She had inherited the Phantom Eagle Clan's gift for wind magic and also mastered fire magic. Though her talent for fire fell short of her talent for wind, her skill with two elements surpassed that of nearly all Beastfolk.
As a result, more of the clan wanted Famu to become its next chief than her elder sister, who was destined to inherit the position under the rule of primogeniture. "Famu? What brings you here?"
Looking at her gifted daughter, Gana could not keep a hint of affection from her eyes.
She had watched Famu's talent and ability develop over the years. She knew that, barring an untimely death, her daughter would certainly become a Crown Tier powerhouse no weaker than herself if she nurtured her properly.
She also knew that Famu wanted to replace her eldest daughter as heir to the Phantom Eagle Tribe.
