New Year's Gift

Contacting the Gnome forces in Ironforge was an extremely complicated matter. Even though the Stormpike Clan had its own unique methods of communication, the vast distance still limited every means of contact.

Kindi's family would remain in Ironforge for the final holiday and would not return to Dalaran until after the New Year. After arranging the Raven Guard Knights soldiers' rotating leave, Roderick, who had been busy for so long, also began preparing for the final holiday before the New Year: the Feast of Winter Veil.

When the holiday arrived, the people of Azeroth would set up a huge felled pine tree at city gates or village exits, decorating it with ribbons of every brilliant color.

A smaller pine tree would also be placed before the fireplace at home. After decorating it, family members would place the gifts they had prepared for one another beneath the tree, then celebrate the holiday together the following day.

Remilia had already put on the winter outfit prepared long ago: a red cotton winter coat and hat, along with a pair of equally red winter boots.

While Roderick prepared dinner at home, he saw Remilia building a snowman in an open area with a group of girls from town. Before long, some rowdy, mischievous boys came over to cause trouble. Bullying girls was the delight of every little brat.

Though Remilia had never been afraid of them, the other girls would be scattered by their snowballs. Alone, she was no match for so many hands, and every time, she would ultimately be defeated.

When she was younger, the competitive Remilia would be so angry that she cried every time. Now, she was a junior mage of Dalaran. Though she was not particularly powerful, dealing with a group of little boys was effortless.

One boy
