Yixiao arrived soon enough, but the hand clenched around his sword hilt showed just how conflicted he was.
"I'm here, Hattori." Yixiao faced Hattori. "Can I go take a look at the graveyard?"
"Hmph. Let's go. I told you—I'll finish you at Kichizo's grave," Hattori said coldly.
"No, I want to go to this village..." Before Yixiao could finish, Hattori grabbed him by the collar.
"Yixiao, you still dare go there! Don't you know who killed them?" Hattori looked as if he wanted to kill Yixiao on the spot.
"I know. Precisely because I know, I want even more to pay my respects." Yixiao looked somewhat sorrowful. "I know all of this was my fault, so I hope you'll give me a chance to apologize to them, Hattori."
"Give you a chance to apologize?" Hattori glared fiercely at Yixiao. "Will they come back to life just because I give you a chance? Stop putting on this act, Yixiao! Come on already. Everyone who came with you back then has been dealt with by me. You're the only culprit left!"
"Those people..." Yixiao seemed to want to say something, but in the end, no words came out. "Hattori, just let me kneel and pay my respects. Can you treat it as my last wish before I die?"
"Last wish?" Hattori frowned. "Hmph. You can only do it from a distance. Don't even think about getting close!"
