The Day I Return to the World

Although Indra's divine form had only appeared for an instant, it drew the attention of every God Guard in the temple.

"No way, right?"

The God Guards exchanged glances. The first clever one hurriedly dropped to his knees to pledge loyalty, followed by the second, the third...

A few seconds later, over a hundred God Guards had knelt in unison.

"Welcome back to your rightful place, Lord Annus!"

"Rise."

Annus spoke indifferently from the divine throne.

"Yes, my lord!"

The God Guards rose, anxiously awaiting judgment.

"The day I return to the world, all traitors shall die." Seated upon the divine throne, Annus suddenly recalled a distant memory and murmured the line softly.

At those words, the God Guards' faces turned pale, cold sweat soaking their backs.

Seeing this, Annus smiled and eased the tense atmosphere.

"Rest assured, I am not some bloodthirsty demon. Those who were forced to submit due to circumstances and had nothing to do with the usurpation will not be troubled or held accountable."

"However, punishment is necessary. Those who voluntarily confess their sins will have their penalties halved. Those who expose the others involved will receive my reward."

Hearing that, the God Guards seemed to have grabbed onto a lifeline and hurried to state their positions, terrified of falling behind.
