The salty sea breeze poured through the open wooden doors of the tavern, mixing with the scent of ale and roasted meat as it rolled through the rugged interior.

A hearty, almost unrestrained laugh burst out first.

A deep, heavy, yet remarkably restrained voice answered him.

Rocks laughed even louder, his voice making the barrels tremble.

Inside the tavern, the counter stretched across the room like a wooden fortress wall.
Before it sat a broad-shouldered, powerfully built Giant.
He wore a thick, bushy beard whose ends curled sharply upward.
His uneven brows looked as though they had been weathered by wind and snow, while his beard was equally sharp and unyielding.
A curved double-line tattoo was clearly etched into his left temple.
On either side of his forehead, backward-curving horns gleamed steadily beneath the lights—the mark of Ancient Giant Race blood.
