"The human body's creation is profound and unfathomable. Within it lies a gate known as the Gate of Creation. A thousand people have a thousand faces; none are alike. What did that mean?

There was a gate within the human body called the "Gate of Creation." This gate was the most crucial part of the Gu Path. If it remained unopened, Gu was Gu and humans were humans. Forcing Human-Gu Unity would only merge the Gu's power and its flaws wholesale into the person. What would that turn a person into? A monster neither human nor Gu!

What exactly would it look like?

One could look to Senior Gu Shan from earlier, who had played with Corpse Gu and turned himself into a neither-human-nor-ghost monster.

That was what it meant to gain a Gu's abilities while also bearing the price of its backlash.

But if the Gate of Creation was opened, the human body's mysterious system would activate. It would treat the Gu as nourishment, extracting the beneficial parts for the body and eliminating the harmful substances.

A person would gain all of the Gu's powers and could even purify and improve them further.

The Gu's fatal defects would not enter the body's system. They would become waste and be expelled.

Lin Xiaosu was deeply shocked by this theory.

This was talking about Gu, so why did it sound more like Genetic Modification?
