The wind in the cave blew over ancient red rocks.

Molis shivered in the wind. Even in early summer, the underground cave was bitterly cold.

The warmth brought by that little bit of food had long since vanished, leaving behind an indescribable craving and an inexpressible despair.

It was said that the Sea Elves had once possessed a magnificent Undersea City.

And this cave was indeed within the Undersea City.

Yet the Undersea City that had once stood tall was no more. Its shattered dome and colonnades whispered of past glory. In those days, it was said, the Undersea City had also possessed mysterious power, sheltering its people.

But now, after thousands of years, that mysterious power had completely vanished. Countless cunning and savage undersea beasts had begun feeding on their former masters.

Their population had been dwindling continuously, until they now stood on the brink of extinction.

Molis looked at her shivering kin in the cave.

Twenty-three kin—this was all that remained of the tribe, and most were children. Their last adult companion had died in the previous hunt.
