The Dao De Scripture was revered by Daoism on Earth as a timeless classic, yet it contained none of the mysteries of cultivation. It seemed to be merely a method for calming the mind and nurturing the spirit.
This seemed at odds with its great reputation, but according to legend, the Dao De Scripture was actually divided into an upper and lower volume.
The upper volume was the portion that had spread across Earth in Shrouding the Heavens. It was meant to cultivate one's state of mind, for ordinary people to read and study.
The lower volume, meanwhile, was a supreme true scripture of cultivation, explaining the mysteries of the Great Dao through qi refinement and breathing techniques.
Yet the lower volume of the Dao De Scripture had not been passed down to later generations. It was said that when Laozi traveled west through Hangu Pass, Yin Xi alone had the fortune to glimpse the true scripture. It was incomparably mysterious and transcendent; no one knew just how miraculous it truly was.
Qin Sheng had cultivated on Earth before, so of course he had read the Dao De Scripture that was widely circulated there. As he began reciting it, purple qi churned within the hazy Taiqing Sacred Realm and reacted.
"Dao that can be spoken..."
Within the small world, another voice began chanting the scripture, echoing Qin Sheng's Dao voice in harmony.
Qin Sheng's heart fell into tranquility. Empty yet clear, naturally entering a wondrous state, he felt neither joy nor excitement at this change. There was only a sense of serene non-action.
It was as though he had forgotten the purpose of his journey. He became one with nature, followed heaven and answered the Dao, no longer forcing anything.
At that moment, a mysterious ripple spread from the Taiqing
