Time moved back a little.

After seeing Suzaku off, Gerard did not find anything amiss. He exchanged a few words with Ajax, then escorted Xu Xi into the car.

Xu Xi got into the second car. Besides the driver, two soldiers in camouflage uniforms and face paint were inside. They had been the ones aiming laser sights at Suzaku earlier. They looked relaxed, chewing gum. Even their gum-chewing came with loud smacking noises. How irritating.

The man picked up the bag and unzipped it, revealing a stack of outdated discs.

"Crazy English."

"Master 100 Sentences, Travel All Across America."

He took out the discs, read their titles, and tossed one aside after each title.

Xu Xi smiled.

The tape over his mouth was actually a tissue using Texture Surprise. Xu Xi had a razor blade in his mouth. As for the handcuffs and ankle shackles, they had all been tampered with. A little force was enough to break free.

Gerard had been careless and had not inspected him thoroughly.

Sitting in the car ahead, Gerard was in a good mood. He had captured Xu Xi and sent an experimental subject to the Workshop. As a salesman, he had quotas to meet.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of screeching brakes.

The car behind them spun around and stopped by the roadside.

"What happened?"

Gerard had a bad feeling. He instructed his bodyguards, "Get out and take a look."
