The SUV stopped in front of the fountain pool. Gazing at the curving staircase rising ahead, Geralt sighed.
"Rich people just love making things complicated."
He had no choice but to get out and walk.
The Demon Hunter Gun hung diagonally across his back, while the folded Demon-Breaking Hand Crossbow was secured to his wrist, preloaded with three Demon-Breaking Arrows.
"Huh?" Geralt faintly heard screaming. Light shone from inside the villa.

Green light really was magical—shining above someone's head, it looked ridiculous; shining on their face, it looked sinister.
Ridiculous and terrifying were separated by just one line.

Channeling magic into his eyes, Geralt activated Spirit Sight and Night Vision. His pupils turned from black to deep blue.
Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, Geralt saw a ghost and two young men and two young women.
The ghost floating in the air with green light all over his face was none other than Harold Kovos.
Under Spirit Sight, black mist swirled around Harold, as thick as undiluted ink.
There was no doubt about it. He was a wraith.
Normally, wraiths were C-Rank monsters. In other words, this mission's rating was a little off.
But that was fine.
Unexpected complications were quite common. They were part of the job.
The big guy among the young men was desperately pushing at the door, but it refused to open. Exhausted, he slumped to the floor in despair, his face twisting into a broken, miserable smile.
