They had left the camp over twenty minutes ago.

Geralt suddenly stopped.

He turned.

And stared at a dense thicket nearby.

"Come out," Geralt said. "Don't make me say it twice."

Silence. It was as though he were talking to the air.

Without another word, Geralt drew his Demon Hunter Gun and chambered a round.

He aimed at the thicket.

A figure slowly stood, both hands raised.

"I mean you no harm..." the figure said.

"It's you." Geralt sounded a little surprised.

It was Kara.

"So you were faking that weakness earlier?" Geralt asked.

"Yes," Kara replied.

"Why are you following me?" Geralt asked.

He kept his gun raised.

"My name is Kara White. The missing David White is my younger brother," Kara said sadly. "Those rich bastards only care about their heir. They don't care who else lives or dies. I just want to save my brother."

Geralt watched Kara until she began to feel uneasy. Then he said slowly:

"If I remember correctly, David White is an only child. Are you siblings from a blended family?"

"I'll give you one more chance to come up with a better story."

What a psycho, Kara cursed inwardly.

Most people only cared about Daniel. Who would bother looking into David?!

Was Geralt just bluffing?
