The guy with Claire was her boyfriend, Simmons. They attended college together and he was from Phoenix City.
In Simmons's imagination, country boys all had permed hair, dull expressions, outdated clothes, and loose plaid shirts.
Geralt's appearance shattered that perception.
When some people realized they had made a mistake, they did not reflect on it. Instead, they blamed the person who made them realize it.

Being blindly kind was useless.
Good people should show their muscles at the right time, and when necessary, throw a heavy punch.
Kindness had never meant refusing to fight back when hit or staying silent when cursed at. Otherwise, that would be far too pitiful.
Geralt had no idea he had been added to Simmons's little blacklist. He shook hands with him and even thought him knowledgeable and dignified, able to casually cite all sorts of references. He was on a completely different level from a plagiarist.
But Geralt did not think much of it. Everyone had their own strengths. When it came to supernatural knowledge and combat, he could take on a hundred Simmonses.
Simmons smiled outwardly, but grew even angrier inside. I've pulled out all the stops. After seeing someone as outstanding as me, why aren't you feeling inferior yet?!
Claire and Simmons sat in the back seat.
"Should we go to my house first?" Claire asked.
"No." Nancy shook her head lightly. "I'll go straight to the scene. What do you think?"
The last question was directed at Geralt.
"Either works. I'll support you either way," Geralt said casually.
"All right, I'll give directions." Claire said, "You've always been like this. Once
