Geralt took a black business card from the drawer—the one he had gotten from Robert.
"Fine, ask whatever you want. I'll tell you everything I know." Geralt lay back flat. "But let me make this clear first: I don't actually know that much."
Caitlin took the card and stared at the terrifying white skull printed on it for a long while before glancing at Geralt. "Talk. I'm listening."
Geralt told her most of what had happened, from Melinda coming to his door to everything that followed.
As for "I'll tell you everything I know"... men's mouths were born to deceive. Did she really dare believe all of it?
"It actually fooled your Spirit Sight?"
Caitlin frowned.
Most Weird Monsters were insidious and cunning, skilled at disguises and ambushes. That was why Spirit Sight, though not a combat talent, was still so highly sought after.
Being able to evade Spirit Sight meant being able to evade most detection methods.
According to Geralt, a mysterious organization was plotting to use humans as vessels, allowing Demons to be born in a human manner and thereby evade the restrictions of the World Rules.
For tens of thousands of years, humanity had been able to fight Demons and hold the upper hand not because humans were stronger than Demons.
The World Rules were like a net: they stopped the big fish and let the small ones through. The stronger an individual trying to enter the human world was, the more severely they were weakened.

Geralt said, "Don't worry. These are the World Rules. If loopholes were really that easy to find, this world would've become a Demon breeding ground long ago."
