A harmless-looking young man.
The door opened without a sound. Felipe watched Geralt vanish into the shadows.
Outside the warehouse, Geralt looked up at the sky, his bright blue eyes gleaming.
Through Spirit Sight, he saw a huge mass of ink-black mist floating above the warehouse. Even without Spirit Hearing, he could hear the wails of countless tormented souls.
"What the hell did these people do?" Geralt murmured.
Then he left.
A few minutes later.
Felipe took the gun from beneath his pillow and got out of bed.
He was nervous.
He had only felt this way when the Maya Gang's very survival was at stake. When was the last time?
Felipe could barely remember.
The door stood ajar. Beyond it lay darkness and silence.
Felipe switched on every light. The hallway was empty, as though everything that had happened earlier had been an illusion.
The next day.
Felipe looked exhausted. Jenny was glowing.
"Boss, you've still got it!"
"Don't overdo it, boss!"
"..."
The gang members took turns teasing him.
Felipe offered no explanation. Jenny, who knew what had really happened, let a trace of worry show in her eyes but smiled as she greeted the others.
After breakfast.
Felipe called his wife and son into his office.
"How's the situation at Claw Restaurant?" Felipe asked Jenny.
"Going smoothly," Jenny said with a smile. "Starting today, I'll send two people over every day. I bet those girls won't last two weeks."
The members he sent wouldn't need to use force. They only had to glare customers into leaving. It was a nasty tactic, but it wasn't illegal.
Sometimes ordinary people were powerless against thugs.
Justice might come eventually, but it was often late.
Felipe thought for a moment. "Put the Claw Restaurant job on hold for now."
"All right."
