Last Month's Royalties Actually Came In. Heh, How Pitiful!

First, I want to say that what follows is just Sixue rambling.

I won't abandon this book, so please don't worry.

I feel awful today, heh, because two hundred yuan showed up in my account. That's last month's subscription royalties! A whole month of hard work earned me only that much. I suddenly realized I could make more selling game currency, let alone working a regular job.

That two hundred yuan looks like it'll buy a few packs of cigarettes and cover the electricity bill. How amusing.

Subscriptions have been even worse these past two days. Looks like I might not even make that much this month. How depressing.

I heard there's a bonus for perfect attendance? So that means I'll get seven hundred yuan this month? Heh, that's quite a lot!

Back when I just read novels, I couldn't understand why some books were going so well and then got abandoned. Now I know.

When the effort and the reward are so far out of balance, those authors can only make that choice.

After all, you readers wouldn't keep pouring your time and money into something for nothing either, right?

Reality really is cruel.

I sit at my computer writing every day until my back aches and my legs hurt, all for a few hundred yuan. It really isn't worth it!

Sixue is only complaining here. If any readers can't stand it, go ahead and curse me out. Subscriptions are already pitifully low anyway, so it hardly matters!

I once wrote with a glimmer of hope. Now that hope is completely gone.

But after all that, I'm only venting because I feel so weighed down. I'll keep writing this book. It's my first, and I'll make it a beautiful memory.
