Thoughts on Launching

The book went premium tomorrow at noon.

With the experience from the first time, I wasn't nearly as nervous this time. After all, I'd completed a novel of over 2.4 million characters. Although my previous book had stepped into plenty of pitfalls, I'd also gained quite a bit of experience.

From the very beginning of this book, I'd deliberately avoided the biggest flaws from my last one. The worst of them had been making up random secondary settings, so I'd done my best to avoid that while writing this new book.

But there was no helping it. Although the original work's two parts totaled over six million characters, it was impossible for every aspect of its setting to be perfectly fleshed out.

Especially for those of us writing fanfiction—if we wanted it to feel fresh, we couldn't follow the original plotline exactly. Otherwise, we'd just follow Luo Feng's path from start to finish: possess the Golden Horned Beast, hunt for treasure in Thunder World, buy the Yan Shen Armament, get Mosha Clan skin, then take part in the Genius Battle, all the way along the original plot.

Stories like that were easy to write. I wouldn't even need to think much; writing ten thousand characters a day would be effortless. But nobody would read it.

To pique readers' interest, I had to write things that weren't in the original. So, on a whim, I decided to write about the Grand Nirvana.

But there were already plenty of Swallowed Star fanfics about the Grand Nirvana. To make mine stand out, I could only put effort into the details. Yet an era described in just a few hundred words in the original naturally couldn't be flawless in every regard.
