Spider-Gwen came from the parallel world of Earth-65.

Gwen's powers had actually originated from a scheme by Silk of that universe. In that universe, Silk was a villain who did every kind of evil. Gwen had confronted her head-on in the Spider-Women, but lost and was injected with a drug that stripped her of her powers.

At present, she could only maintain her spider abilities through isotope injections.

In this universe, there was no evidence that she and this world's Peter Parker had been a couple. But Peter's death had more or less been her mistake, so she learned the meaning of the phrase, "With great power comes great responsibility."

Gwen's life had already been a mess before she gained her powers, and it did not improve much afterward. Among all the Spider-Men, she was one of the more self-destructive ones.
