Wood's slender, pale-red tongue swayed back and forth between two rows of large white teeth like a rattlesnake with its tail pinned, producing a string of hissing sounds. The mottled coating on its tip resembled exquisite little pearls, evenly and neatly wrapping around a thin groove running down the center of the tongue.
Wood's words left Li Ziran somewhat bewildered. He could not quite understand what this man was thinking.

He had never dared hope that the other party would help him for no reason. That was unrealistic.

To cut off the other party's tongue, he would have to enter the barrel. Would the other party suddenly turn hostile? Though Wood was now merely a Corpse Witch, he might possess some soul-related means. After all, he knew Time Ghosts like Bowente extremely well.
"Heh heh, you're afraid, aren't you?" Wood slowly withdrew that slender tongue into his mouth and laughed. "Little Witch Doctor, you want my tongue, don't you? Stop dreaming. This is my treasure."
Li Ziran secretly laughed. This man was clearly toying with him. Yet just then, a burst of footsteps came from the thick fog. It was Cavis, striding quickly toward Li Ziran.
"What are you doing! Li Ziran, I told you not to cause trouble, yet you dared enter Thorn Prison on your own!" Before he even approached, Cavis's angry voice carried over. "Get out! Get the hell out of here right now! I don't care whether you have a Light Spell organ or not. I'm warning you, if you dare take one more step into Thorn Prison, I'll send you to the cross!"
"I only wanted to ask about Bowente. You saw it yourself—I didn't
