Background & History

Luo Ao apparently died after being struck by a vehicle, with blinding headlights and music among his final memories. He awakened in another world as a newborn dungeon: his consciousness and soul resided in a floating sphere of light, while the dungeon itself became his body 1.

He emerged near Marguerite after only three days of preparation. Knowing that adventurers could seize his core and control him, Luo Ao immediately used Primordial Power to expand his floors, build false passages, conceal deeper routes, and create defensive monsters beginning with the Fungus Lord 1 2 3.

The first adventurer incursions changed his approach. After learning that corpses and souls could be converted into Primordial Power, Luo Ao chose not to exterminate every intruder. Instead, he adopted a sustainable strategy: seed treasure chests with equipment, allow survivors to spread stories of profit, and cultivate a continuing supply of adventurers 7 8.

As his dungeon expanded, Luo Ao shifted from building isolated defenses to managing connected ecosystems. He created guardians, breeding populations, industrial monster races, intelligent administrators, resource networks, and controlled routes through deeper layers 29 51 57 83. By the Ninth Layer, he was planning inter-layer commerce and eventual trade with adventurers through a Mushroom Merchant 98.

Appearance

Luo Ao has no human body after his transmigration. His true body is a great floating sphere of light containing his consciousness and soul, normally kept in the deepest area of the newest dungeon layer 1 8 80.

He is calculating rather than indiscriminately murderous. Luo Ao views adventurers as both threats and renewable resources, deliberately balancing casualties against the need to maintain the dungeon’s reputation for treasure and survivable opportunity 7 49 92.

His curiosity extends beyond combat. He studies adventurers’ memories, magical technology, professions, equipment, and social systems to improve the dungeon. He later supports monster civilization, trade, record-keeping, and a merchant-guild intelligence network 17 60 98 112.

Despite his utilitarian outlook, Luo Ao shows attachment to several creations—especially the Fungus Lord—and preserves Ross’s unfinished book in hopes that someone may complete it 29 98.
